We’re dedicating this night to an exceptional guitarist from Cologne, without whom this Bad Bluesy Tuesday at the Filmdose would have been unthinkable—namely, our guitarist: Andi Reisner. There’s a somewhat melancholic reason behind this: Andi is leaving the blues session and Bluesploitation in 2027 because he’s moving to Berlin and needs time for new projects. We hope that we’ll still be able to welcome him occasionally as a guest and musician on our blues stage at the Filmdose—perhaps even with other, new groups.
Today’s program was put together by Andi Reisner. His favorite Bluesploitation songs. 12 out of 29—that’s how many tracks we’ve compiled since September 2025, when we first took the stage together.
His greatest strengths are soft tones, sounds, and a feel for moods and emotions. Add to that a vast musical horizon that extends far beyond the rather narrow confines of the blues, a sensitive ear, a cornucopia of tones, melodies, timbres, and improvisations, an intuitive connection with his fellow musicians, and the ability to create spontaneous, shared musical moments. The Bluesploitation plays Delta country blues & rhythm. They are the house band for the monthly Cologne blues session at the Theater in der Filmdose. People dance there. The Bluesploitation plays danceable music—sometimes slow, sometimes rough, sometimes funky. Swinging and shuffling… A bit of Delta, Chicago, jazz, and a bit of country. They draw on the sound of the 1940s and ’50s.
